The American College of the Mediterranean (ACM) offers semester, summer, and January Term programs in Florence, Italy though its study abroad institute, IAU Study Abroad.
Students in ACM-IAU’s Florence program choose to enroll in our Business, Fashion, and Liberal Arts Program: this program is offered in partnership with the Accademia Italiana, which is considered one of the most important European Institutes in the field of design and applied arts. The courses offered at Accademia Italiana in art and design are complemented by IAU course offerings in business and liberal arts and the combined catalog boasts a wide variety of courses designed to meet the needs of students across many majors.
The IAU’s Florence center program is complemented by important experiential learning components that include field studies to various parts of Tuscany, Rome, and Milan, as well as trips to France, Spain, and Morocco depending on the student’s course of study.
The American College of the Mediterranean offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs based at its main campus in Aix-en-Provence, France, with the opportunity for students to spend a semester during their degree at its study abroad centers in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain and Florence, Italy. Originally founded as a study abroad institute by U.S. diplomats in 1957, ACM-IAU emphasizes site-specificity and experiential learning through its programs to prepare students for success in a global community through the study of European and Mediterranean history, languages, cultures, and contemporary issues. ACM is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
