The University of Notre Rome Global Gateway was established in 2014, building over 50 years of University’s presence in the city, with the mandate and ambition of advancing the University’s mission in Italy and the Mediterranean. Activities in the Gateway revolve around research, graduate and undergraduate education, and cultural engagement with the city.

The Rome Global Gateway has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research as an Ente di ricerca – Research Institution. Research initiatives are carried out by faculty, research fellow, and graduate and undergraduate students, in partnership with campus departments and colleges, as well as many Italian and Vatican institutions.

The Gateway hosts four undergraduate programs during the academic semester, and between two and four programs during the Summer. Most students reside in a University-owned student residence in Via Celimontana. Study and internship opportunities are also offered at the Master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral level, in collaboration with local public and private institutions. Conferences and other University-related events are regularly hosted in our academic facility in Via Ostilia.
