Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine, the University of Mary Italy Campus provides an international interdisciplinary learning environment for undergraduates in every field of study. Offering courses designed to fulfill requirements of the core liberal arts curriculum of its sponsoring institution, the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, the Italy Campus operates under the auspices of the Catholic Studies department at the University which seeks to provide a port of entry for undergraduates into a rich encounter with the Catholic intellectual tradition. In particular, the University of Mary Italy Campus seeks to place students in touch with the historical and cultural roots of Catholicism toward the end of provoking in them to consider the ongoing relevance of the Church in the modern world in every facet of society.
