The American University of Rome (AUR) prepares students to live and work across cultures as skilled and knowledgeable citizens of an interconnected and rapidly changing world.
Soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary, AUR is a private, independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education, offering undergraduate and graduate liberal arts programs with a focus on real-world application of theory and long-term career development.
Taking the best of the American approach to interdisciplinary, student-centered learning, the highly experienced international faculty and staff use Rome as a ‘living backdrop’ to classroom learning – most programs feature a range of on-site classes around the modern and the ancient city of Rome.
Internships and career development are a vitally important part of each student’s academic and career development and AUR works with a great range of national and international companies/NGOs to provide internship experience. Currently around 78% of all students will undertake at least one internship – many will take two. AUR has a clear aim to provide 100% internship opportunities within the next three years.
AUR is small, selective in admission and internationally recognized for the quality of its academic programs and for its focus on the application of the liberal arts mindset in business and commerce.
The American University of Rome is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and licensed by the State of Delaware Department of Education.
