The Kansas State University in Italy provides education abroad experiences in a variety of academic areas. Students spend the Spring, Fall or Summer semester in Orvieto enrolled in a full complement of courses offered through Kansas State University including Environmental Design and Planning, Art, Italian Art History and Culture, Italian Language and Culture, Philosophy. A highlight of Kansas State University in Italy is the College of Architecture, Planning and Design Italian Studies Program which has been providing a quality education abroad experience in Italy for over 25 years.

Classes are taught by both Kansas State University faculty and Italian faculty. A series of focused one-day study tours to nearby towns and cities as well as several multi-day study tours throughout Italy provide a substantial understanding of the interrelationship between art, culture, design and planning. The students also participate in workshops and cultural activities offered by local artisans and craftspeople to obtain a broad understanding and comprehension of Italian traditions, innovations and contributions to the arts, crafts as well as food and wine.
