IES Abroad is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Chicago. The Rome Center generally hosts university students for an academic semester but also offers short term programs, such as January Term and summer term. Students come from a large consortium of over 160 American universities. The aim of the IES program is to immerse American university students into Italian culture through their courses, living situations, and daily activities. Courses are taught by qualified Italian professors and range in material from art history, archaeology, architecture, religious studies, political science and international relations.
