The semester-long program, offered Fall and Spring, primarily serves Cornell students from the College of Architecture, Art and Planning. It is also open to Cornell students from other colleges within the university, as well as students from other institutions. Architecture courses include design studios, architectural history, theory, visual studies, technology, culture and society, and other special elective courses. Art courses include studios (encompassing work in sculpture, drawing, painting and photography) and art history. Planning offers urban studies and regional development courses for undergraduates and special internships for graduate students with international agencies in Rome. There are also courses in Italian language and Italian cinema (Not all courses here indicated are offered each semester.) Interdisciplinary exchange is encouraged. There is an extensive field trip program which includes sites throughout Italy.
