Housed in two historic palaces in the center of Florence, SACI is a comprehensive studio arts program including painting, drawing, etching, multimedia, video, sound art, sculpture, ceramics, photography, illustration, animation, graphic design, communication design, interior design, fashion design, architectural drawing, book arts, batik, weaving, serigraphy, jewelry design, typography, infographics, web design, installation and performance art, a full range of conservation courses, creative writing, art history courses, museology, and history of Italian cinema. Undergraduate, graduate, post-baccalaureate, MFA, MA and summer studies offered.
U.S. College credits and grades issued through Bowling Green State University. SACI is also directly accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), SACI is authorized by the Delaware Department of Education and NASAD to confer a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Studio Art degree with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Communication Design, a Low-Residence MFA in Studio Art, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Art History.
Artists Council includes Christo, Jim Dine, Audrey Flack, Ralph Gibson, Sting, Betty Woodman, etc. SACI has two galleries with student and public exhibitions on a regular basis. SACI has an extensive volunteer program working with the Soprintendenza ai Beni culturali and the hospitals of Florence, and offers student internships in museums and design firms.
