Boston University Study Abroad Padua
Located in the heart of town, close to Prato della Valle, the BU Padua Academic Center hosts classrooms, library and administrative offices. All programs comprise homestay accommodation.
The Boston University Study Abroad Padua Programs (Fall, Spring and Summer), include:
Italian and European Studies Program (Fall, Spring, 16 credits; Summer, 8 credits)
The Italian and European Studies Program is designed both for students with prior knowledge of Italian and for students who never studied the language before. Students enrolled in this program can take a variety of courses taught in English or Italian at the BU Padua Academic Center or at the Università degli Studi di Padova.
Internship Program (Fall Only, 16 credits)
The program aims at giving students the opportunity to experience Italian life and culture, as well as a taste of work-life. The program includes an internship in Italian or in English in one of the following areas: Arts and Arts Administration, Linguistics Research, International Organizations and NGOs, Politics/International Relations and Hospitality Administration. All elective courses, in Italian or English, are held at BU Padua academic center. Previous knowledge of Italian is not required for this program.
Management Internship Program (Spring only, 16 credits)
The program consists of management courses (with direct enrollment in the Università degli Studi di Padova Department of Business and Economics), an Italian language and culture course for students with no previous knowledge of Italian, and an academic internship course taught at the BU Padua Academic Center. The internship course consists of class instruction and an internship placement. There are no language prerequisites.
Padua Mediterranean Diet: Food, Culture and Health (Summer, 4 credits)
The program will immerse students in the food, agriculture, culture, cuisine, and lifestyle of the Mediterranean region while studying the evidence-based research on the Mediterranean diet and health outcomes. Students will participate in hands-on activitiesmand take field trips to vineyards, farms, and marketplaces.
Boston University Study Abroad Venice
Located near Campo Santa Margherita, the BU Venice Academic Center includes studio space, classrooms, and administrative offices. All programs comprise apartment accommodation.
The Boston University Study Abroad Venice Programs (Fall, Spring and Summer), include:
Venice Studio Arts Program (Fall, Spring, 16 credits; Summer, 8 credits) The program offers coursework in Painting, Drawing, Graphic Design, Printmaking, Glassblowing, Art History and Italian. Some courses are offered in cooperation with the Venice Academy of Fine Arts.
Venice Environmental Studies Program (Summer, 8 credits)
The program proposes a reflection on the Venice Lagoon, Climate Change, and sea level rise and their effects on the economy and society.
